Fallasarna is a wide west-facing beach on the far west coast of Crete, north of Kissamos at the base of the Gramvousa peninsula. Fallasarna is known for its scale and its aspect: several hundred metres of pale sand facing directly west, which is why it fills with people watching the sunset rather than emptying at the end of the day.
The name is also written Falassarna and Falasarna, and all three refer to the same beach.

That aspect is why it fills in the evening rather than emptying, and why the return leg from here is worth arranging in advance.

The coach serves Kissamos, and a local service runs down to Fallasarna only a couple of times a day in summer. Outside those months there is nothing, and no way to arrange a return from the beach itself.
