Makrigialos is a 2km long-sand beach in Crete found right on the southeast coast of the island. When you arrive at Heraklion Airport (the most common point of entry for Crete), you can opt for several transportations. But, although train stations aren't one of them, taxi cabs, private transfers and buses are all available.

However, you'll first need to travel to Leropetra because there is no direct (non-stop) bus to Makrigialos.
From Heraklion Airport, take a taxi going to Bus Station A (Heraklion's Port) Once there, board a bus going to Ierapetra. When you reach Ierapetra's KTEL Bus Station, head to the ticket kiosk and buy a ticket to Makrigialos (the final destination) Lastly, board the bus going to Makrigialos. The whole trip will take around 2 hours and 8 minutes.

There is no direct (express / non-stop) bus from Heraklion Airport to Makrigialos. As such, you'll have to ride a taxi first to Bus Station A to find public transport. The bus station is located near the port of Heraklion. Once there, you can ride a bus going to Ierapetra and catch a bus to Makrigialos.
