South Coast, Palm Beach Hotel and Ionostar Hotel stand along the front within a kilometre of the centre. The villages on this shore run into one another along a single road, so your driver works from the property name rather than the village sign.
The KTEL coach from Heraklion reaches Ierapetra with a change at Agios Nikolaos, and the eastern service continues along the coast to Koutsouras.
After an overnight crossing that means the city bus station, two coaches and a change, then a set-down on the road through the village. Outside the summer months the eastern service runs rarely enough to plan a day around.
