Sissi is a small fishing village on the north coast of Lassithi, set around a narrow natural inlet between Malia and Milatos. Sissi kept its harbour rather than replacing it, so the centre is still a line of tavernas along the water with the boats tied up below the tables.
The village is deliberately quieter than the resorts west of it. Development here is low-rise and spread along the shore, the beaches are small coves rather than one long strip, and there is no nightlife district of the kind Malia is known for.
