Georgioupolis is a resort village on the north coast between Rethymno and Chania, built where the Almiros river meets the sea. Georgioupolis is known for the small chapel of Agios Nikolaos, which stands on a rock offshore and is reached by a narrow stone causeway running out from the beach.

It runs from Chania's station rather than Souda, so after a night on the boat it means the city first and then a walk down from the junction into the village.
